Renting heat in the oilfield
What is a flameless heater, and how does it work?
A flameless heater makes heat from a diesel engine rather than from a burner in the airstream. The engine drives a heat-generating circuit, and a blower pushes clean, dry air across a heat exchanger and out through ducting. There is no open flame and no combustion in the air you are blowing onto the pad.
That is what makes it the standard choice for classified, hazardous oilfield locations: no flame, no spark, and no setback distance to work around.
Flameless or indirect-fired — which one do I need?
Flameless is the safer pick anywhere there is a chance of hydrocarbons in the air, because nothing on the unit produces an open flame. Our flameless units run 600,000 to 1,200,000 BTU/hr.
Indirect-fired heaters like the Allmand Maxi-Heat burn fuel in a sealed chamber and duct the heat out, so the air stays clean and dry but the unit does have a flame inside it. They are a good fit for large enclosures and structures on non-classified locations.

What do you use these heaters for?
The usual jobs on a winter pad: freeze protection for lines, tanks and equipment; ground thaw before digging; enclosure and structure heat so crews can work; and rig heat.
Do your heaters need DEF?
No. Our heaters run pre-DEF engines, so there is no Diesel Exhaust Fluid to freeze up, run out, or fault a unit out in the cold. That matters in January more than it does on the spec sheet.
Do you deliver and fuel the equipment on site?
Yes to both. We stage equipment in Wamsutter, deliver it to your location, and fuel it at the well — and we will keep your own small equipment fueled while we are there.

Daily and weekly rates, quoted per job, so you only pay for what your site actually needs. Tell us what you are running and where and we will send a quote and a delivery window — usually the same day.
